Nicole, We haven't met, but our parents know each other (Diebold, perhaps?) "back home," and my dad (Charles Gray) sent me the link to your site this afternoon. Looks great, by the way. New York is a real adventure, and it looks like you're off to a great start. My name is Kevin Gray, and I've been here for 3 years pursuing a doctorate at Columbia University (Teachers College) with my wife and nearly 3yo daughter. I don't know if you have any people in the city other than those you're working with, but you're welcome to contact me if there's every anything a fellow Ohioan with a little experience in the city might be able to help you with. Honestly, don't hesitate. 6 months is barely enough time to figure out the subway system in some respects, and if you want to really go all-in on getting the most out of the city, we could at least offer some shortcuts and good deals we've discovered along the way. Not that you can't make the best of it on your own, but that Ohio thing is in the blood. We have to look out for each other. Having said that, good luck with the internship, make the most of the experience, I wish you the best of what will be a very exciting time! ckg2104@columbia.edu
Hey, Nicole it sure sounds like you're having a great time and doing so much already. We just got back tonight from Disney World which was a lot of fun other than the fact that it was COLD! And small world -- Kevin Gray that wrote to you is the brother of Alice Gray who went to Hoover with Heather. In fact Heather was at her house once!
